This is great. When they do the touch. Should they actually tough their nose to your hand? I think this would confuse my dog. Can they just sit! Or is the touch integral to the sequence?

That's a really good question, touch is an important step as it brings the dog directly to you whereas sit can be out of reach and touch means the dog is directly at your hand level to exchange the toy. As you progress in the stages you can gradually fade out touch for fetch and keep it as a separate exercise :)
